Download & Install the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client

This is a one-time step.

Once the application is installed, you will access and use it as you do other applications installed on your computer.

(1) The Microsoft Remote Desktop Client can be downloaded using the vendor links below.

(2) When installation is complete, choose Finish to launch Microsoft Remote Desktop. Screenshot: Finish Installation
(3) From the Let’s get started page, click Subscribe. Screenshot: Subscribe
(4) Log in with your FSU account.      Screenshot: Log in

(5) Locate and launch the application you need to use.

Saving Files to Your Computer Using Virtual Desktop

To save files when using the Virtual Desktop, there are two steps to remember.

(1) From the applications File menu, choose Save or Save As.

Note: In this example, we are using the SPSS application.

(2) From the Look in drop down, browse into drives with the word on in the name.

On indicates that the drive is on your local computer.

Example: C on ComputerName

Continue browsing into this drive until you locate the local folder on your computer where you want to save your file.
