Summary
This article outlines our YuJa storage quotas and video retention. Storage quotas and retention policies are required standards for IT services that store and distribute content. Quotas and retention policies are reviewed annually to ensure alignment with needs and budget.
Quotas
Quotas are allocated based on role or use and are enforced to optimize costs and consumption.
- Students – 10GB
- Faculty – 50GB
- Faculty who access YuJa Video via Canvas are automatically allotted this quota.
- If you do not teach in Canvas, submit a YuJa Video Service Request to have your quota manually increased.
- Staff – 10GB (If needed, staff can request an increase to 25GB).
Analytics Tools
Course Analytics provides information about cumulative views, unique views, and popular videos.
If you use YuJ via the standalone portal, Content Analytics provides information about media files and user interactions, including an overall summary and specific information about views.
Managing Your YuJa Video Storage
- If you're running low on storage, download media with low viewership then delete it from YuJa Video to free up space. Deleting removes media/content from your library AND any locations it is published/shared.
- Deleted videos remain in your YuJa Video recycle Bin, where they are permanently deleted after 30 days. ITS cannot recover videos that have been permanently deleted from the recycle bin.
Retention Policy
This retention policy supports the implementation and use of YuJa Video as a service for storing and sharing of videos that are being viewed.
- YuJa Media with 10 views or less in the previous calendar year will be permanently deleted.
- Prior to deletion, ITS will notify owners by email 3 times to download media that does not meet this retention poli
