Checking Email Quarantine

Summary

If an email is quarantined because it is suspected to be spam or junk, you can review and release the message(s) in Outlook or from the Email Quarantine.

E-mail Quarantine Notification

When messages are quarantined, you will receive an email notification from Microsoft 365 Security. This email includes links that allow you to manage the message or block the sender.

Preview & Releases Messages from Email Quarantine

In addition to managing messages from the email notification, you can log in to Email Quarantine to manage messages.

Step 1 – Log in to Email Quarantine

https://security.microsoft.com/quarantine

Step 2 – Release and Preview Messages

(a) Tick the checkbox for a quarantined message.

(b) Click Release to send the message to your Inbox.

(c) Click Delete messages to permanent message.
Note: Deleted messages cannot be recovered.

(d) Click Preview message to safely preview the message.

Block Sender from Email Quarantine

  1. Log in to Email Quarantine https://security.microsoft.com/quarantine.
  2. Tick the checkbox for a quarantined message.
  3. From the More menu choose Block Sender.
