Protect Downloaded Monitor Recordings

FSU must be intentional in protecting our students’ education records in accordance with FERPA, including any recorded media of our students. Instructors are responsible for ensuring that recordings are securely stored and not shared or used in any way except for the purpose of investigating an alleged incident of academic misconduct.

Best Practices for Protecting Downloaded Monitor Recordings

  • Store recordings in OneDrive or another approved, secure, University solution.
  • Avoid sharing recordings in any way that cannot be controlled (e.g., sending by email).
  • Delete stored recordings unless they must be archived.
