Overview
Lockdown Browser and Monitor are third-party integrations that can be used by instructors to promote academic integrity during Canvas quizzes.
LockDown Browser is a custom browser that restricts students from accessing other programs, websites, and print/copying, etc. during a Canvas assessment. Monitor is a feature of LockDown Browser. It is a software-based proctoring service that can be enabled to record video of a during a Canvas assessment.
Support Options
ITS
- LockDown Browser and Monitor are fully supported for use with Canvas quizzes.
- Best effort support is offered for use with third-party Canvas integrations (i.e. Pearson MyLab, McGrawHill Aleks, etc.)

Instructors
Respondus Monitor does not detect cheating. Monitor flags events such as talking or looking at a phone that must then be reviewed by the instructor to determine IF further action should be taken.
