Integration Review and Deployment Process

Technical and Data Assessment

  • The Banner Steering Committee evaluates technical feasibility considering the chosen method and potential limitations.
  • The Information Security Office is consulted to assess data security protocols and access controls.
  • Affected Banner data owners are consulted in accordance with FSU's Data Governance Policy and standard data management practices when an integration involves the use of or access to regulated data..

Development and Testing

  • Develop the required code or configuration to connect the third-party system to Banner.
  • Perform testing to ensure data is transferred accurately and securely between systems.

Approval and Deployment

  • Once testing is successful, submit the integration for review and approval by relevant stakeholders.
  • Schedule implementation of integration.

Integration Deployment Schedule

  • Deployment of new integrations will occur once per quarter IF the integration has completed the review process.
  • In certain situations, ITS may deploy integrations outside the regular schedule if the priority justifies it and the associated risks are deemed acceptable, HOWEVER the integration must still have completed the review process.
