Overview

Qualtrics is a cloud-based software platform used to create, distribute, and analyze surveys.

Survey Building: Build basic to highly advanced surveys using question types like heat maps, sliders, and file uploads.
Logic and Customization: Features conditional and branch logic that tailors survey questions in real-time based on a respondent's previous answers.
Analytics and Reporting: Provides built-in data analysis tools and customizable dashboards to visualize response data and trends.
Automation: Automatically distributes surveys via email, QR codes, or anonymous links and sets up automated triggers (e.g., sending follow-ups to non-responders).

Qualtrics is available to students and employees with active University accounts.
Qualtrics use is restricted to university-related work (i.e. conducting research, facilitating surveys, etc.)
Use for outside organizations or personal purposes is prohibited.

Researchers are responsible for engaging the IRB to ensure all training and requirements have been completed before using Qualtrics for conducting research.
At the request of IRB, Qualtrics administrators may pause or delete surveys and survey data owned by researchers who do not meet IRB requirements.

Qualtrics is approved for the collection and storage of sensitive information.
Data collected through Qualtrics is stored on vendor servers.
If sensitive data is downloaded, the data steward bears responsibility for protecting this data in accordance with University policies.

Qualtrics accounts and data are subject to standard account retention policies.
Users are responsible for ensuring surveys and data are exported or transferred before separating from the University.
