Fayetteville State University participates in the NCShare Compute as a Service (CaaS) and GPU as a Service (GaaS) program, which provides access to computing systems and services at no cost.
NCShare supports a wide range of computational needs, from interactive sessions to parallel workflows for large-scale computing.
Things to Know
- All students and employees have access to NCShare.
- Use of NCShare is limited to non-commercial research and education. It may NOT be used for commercial purposes or to commercialize derived software, data, or outcomes.
Employee Responsibilities
Employees using NCShare Computing Services are responsible for adhering to all applicable University policies, procedures and standards.

Storage
Restrictions and Limitations
- Data Restrictions: Storage of sensitive data is not permitted on NCShare.
- Storage Limitations: NCShare is not intended for long-term storage.
Allocations and Retention
- Personal: Each user receives a personal 50 GB share for scripts and environment setups.
- Shared Project: Institutional contacts can request shared project storage of up to 100 TB for datasets researchers plan to analyze. Allocations are available for 6 months.
- Temporary Analysis Workspace: A shared temporary workspace is available for active analyses. Data in this workspace is automatically purged after 75 days.
