This request initiates the review of third-party Canvas integrations also known as LTIs.
Third-party Canvas integrations provide functionality beyond Canvas’s native capabilities and often include features such as access to publisher resources, grade passback, and FSU single sign-on access.

At a minimum, ITS will request the following documentation from each vendor
- HECVAT (Higher Education Community Vendor Assessment Toolkit) is a standardized questionnaire framework used by colleges and universities to measure third-party vendor risk.
- SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls 2) is a voluntary compliance framework created by the that defines how service providers should safely manage customer data.

- Used by more than 100 students.

- Campus, department or program initiative.

| Duplication |
Must not duplicate native Canvas functionalities or those of other already installed integrations. |
| Installation / Activation |
Must NOT require manual course-level installation/activation. |
| AI Courseware |
Must also be evaluated and approved by the AI Taskforce. |
| Information Security Assessment |
Involves review of the vendor’s System and Organization Controls documentation and other information security materials. |
| Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to University Policies |
Integration vendors must agree to University requirements for data ownership, privacy, and incident response. If no MOU is on file, ITS will initiate one, and if the vendor cannot accept the MOU terms, the requestor’s departmental leadership may need to sign an IT Security risk acceptance. |
